I’d like to begin by apologizing to those who actually were staying up to date with my blog…I have a million excuses as to why I haven’t posted, but I’ll just spare you a sob story, and tell you, I’m BACK! I hope you all have continued to be motivated, eating well and exercising! Quite honestly, I’ve been up and down, as far as motivation. I have been working out and eating healthy, but not nearly as much as when I started this journey 2 months ago.

However, just last week, I finally took the plunge and got myself a gym membership! I couldn’t be more excited…Now I have no excuses, (workout partner can’t make it, can’t meet at the regular time, etc) I need to go use this gym! I can go whenever I’d like, as late as I need, and I got the membership alone, so I don’t have to depend on somebody else to accompany me. True, it’s not as fun or motivational to go to the gym alone, but at least it gives me quiet time (much needed after watching 4 babies all day).

So, my update and progress on my weight loss….my weight varies throughout the day between 142-143. I couldn’t be more excited! I’m excited, b/c although for the last month, I haven’t been working out as much or eating as healthy, I haven’t gained any weight back, yay!! My belly inches is now measuring 37.5 inches! I can feel and see the difference in the way my clothes is beginning to feel, I love it! Anywho…as I get ready to battle Month 3, I am willing, motivated, and READY to tackle the gym more often than I have been….I can’t wait to begin seeing better results!

I’m not going to lie, writing this post, I’m feeling kinda bummed, guilty, embarrassed…I didn’t loose any weight this week. BUT that’s not what’s bothering me, the fact that I had such a lack of motivation last week, is what’s making me feel this way. I know that if I was more motivated and not so easily weakened by non-healthy foods, I would have had better results! However, b/c of this lack of motivation, it gives me the strength that I need to say, I WILL have more motivation this week, I WILL work harder, I WILL eat healthier, and I WILL have better results!!! Yesterday marked 4 weeks, since we started this amazing journey and so far I’ve lost a total of 5 lbs. If you remember, I wanted to loose at least a minimum of 2 lbs per MONTH, so 5 lbs is great!! Thursday, the 25th, will mark one month exactly since I started my journey to 130, and so I will post again that day, with pictures as well, of my progress in this month. So stay tuned for Thursday’s results!

Of course as a teenage girl, I was totally disgusted about the fact that women could WANT to sweat! Little did I know back then, that today, I would be searching for this product that made you sweat, and in turn, made you loose weight quicker! My mom swore by this product, and so I just had to try it!

Lo and behold, I found it at Walmart for only $5! I definitely had to try it Within the first day or two of using it, I noticed an increase of weight loss! I was already loosing weight, but I do believe that this thing is making it drop faster. I usually will put it on in the morning (the picture shows the lady putting it on over her clothes, I put it under my clothes), do my chores, maybe a run on the treadmill and not until I take a shower, do I take it off for the day. I will also put it back on for my evening work out. It’s great, I love it! I must admit, however, I still am totally disgusted about the amount of sweat that’s left on it when I remove it, but that’s nothing a few Clorox Wipes can’t fix, I just wipe it down very quickly after removing it, and it’s ready for tomorrow!

Anyhow, I just had to share with you all, about this product. It totally worked for me, I love it!!

We’ve made it through week 2!!!! I’m so proud of myself, Yvonne, and anybody else who has been following along with us. Which, by the way, there were a few of you who stated when I started this blog that you would begin your journey with me. I would LOVE to see who is still on this journey, and what your progress is. Please, comment below, and let me know, don’t leave us alone!!!

Week two began encouraging b/c I had lost 2 lbs the week before and I was excited. However, toward the end of the week, I was craving every kind of junk food known to man! Thankfully, I have a wonderfully, supportive husband who reminded me of all my viewers of my blog and it helped get me back on track! I haven’t tried any new recipes lately, mainly b/c I’ve just been too busy to look some up. So I’ve been eating a lot of veggies and a lot of chicken

So…my results for week 2 are, I now weigh 147!! That’s another pound loss. If you remember, my goal was 2 lbs a month, I am now at 3 lbs lost and it’s only been 2 weeks, couldn’t be happier. Someone mentioned to me, “that sure is a lot of work you’re doing and only losing 3 lbs, I would have been discouraged already!” Well, to that person I say, it’s 3 lbs less than I was last week, when I could be at at 3 lbs more! It may be slowly, but surely, I know it will all be worth it in the end!

If your still with me on this journey, or started and gave up but want to start again, let me know! I would love to know who is following along, it’s soooo encouraging!!!

Today marks 1 week of my journey, wow, it seems much longer than that! I would like to say that I feel very accomplished, NEVER, have I gone a full week (Mon-Fri) of workouts everyday, I am VERY proud of not only me, but my workout partner, Yvonne, as well! WE CAN DO THIS!! So after one week of great workouts and eating healthier, I am ecstatic to announce, as I weighed myself this evening, I have lost 2 pounds!!!!!! Yup, I am now at 148 Thank you to everybody for your continued motivation and encouragement, it really does mean the world to me. It also helps give me that extra boost of energy I need to hit the gym, thanks again!

My goal was 2 pounds per month, I met that in that in the first week. HOWEVER, 148, has usually been a hill that can’t be crossed for me! For two years now, I have been at 148 several times, but no matter what I tried, could never get below that. This time I will NOT give up! I will climb and surpass this slope!! It may not be in this week or next, but I will see 147 and/or less soon!

Oh boy, I thought I was sore yesterday! Today, well, lets just say, I can barely move! As I sit down this morning to begin my blog, I am re-encouraged, knowing that my soreness will be rewarded in the end.

After reading many comments about not measuring weight, but inches, I finally got the courage to measure myself. I have never done this before, and quite frankly, was afraid of what the results would be. I will also share my measurements with you all, so that we can see the progress there too. I also finally took some “before” pictures and will post weekly photos of my physical progress. I will post these pictures under the “weight loss” tab at the top of the blog.
Here they are:
Belly–39 3/4 inches
Thighs–22 1/2 inches
Calves–14 1/8 inches

For breakfast, I had ham and eggs (trying to get the protein up, as suggested in my comments) with a slice of low sodium, pepperjack cheese. This has always been one of my favorites, so I have no complaints here!

For lunch, I tried a new recipe…Baked Chicken and Zucchini. I probably should have let it bake longer, because I don’t think the chicken cooked all the way. Other than that, it was pretty good. The zucchini had a great crisp to it. However, Abner, again did not like it…he was hoping they’d have cake back the office upon his return, lol. Poor guy…I feel bad for not cooking “good” anymore, but it’s for our own good. I want to be able to grow very old and healthy with him by my side

Dinner, was one of Abner’s favorite dishes, so of course, had no complaints from him. I decided to make Shrimp Cocktails and Corn on the cob for “dessert.” It was a big hit with my family as well, who joined us for dinner.

Yvonne and I couldn’t get together for our workout tonight, so I decided to run at home on my treadmill today, followed by some crunches. I don’t think I’ve ever sweat as much as I did today!

July 26: Sore is the word for today! After my workout yesterday, I felt so sore when I got up this morning. As the day progressed, I noticed different places that were sore, for example, when I laughed, I noticed my abs were sore; suddenly my laughter turned into a painful mourn. I remembered however, that it will all be worth it in the end, and my smile returned

For breakfast, I started with a small amount of 1/3 less fat Cream cheese and low sodium peach preservatives on top of a slice of wheat toast, DELICIOUS!! Pomegranate with Lemon was the energy drink I tried for the first time today, it is now my new favorite drink

As I enjoyed my breakfast, I thought I’d check out my blog that my amazing husband stayed up so late the night before doing for me. To my surprise, I already had a few comments! I couldn’t be more ecstatic. In fact, the comments were so motivational, that I was just about to run upstairs to change into my workout clothes and jump on my treadmill before the kids woke up, however, I wasn’t able to even complete that thought b/c my babies were awake! lol.

I continued my day with a not-so-healthy lunch, b/c I was in Othello, and my mom was craving Chinese for lunch! I will share, though, that I cut my portion down to about half of what it would have been regularly. I give myself points for that! lol.

For dinner, I had another wrap just like yesterdays (I repeat, I NEED healthy recipes, please!). I was off to workout now. I must say, it felt great to workout today. I honestly believe it was your comments that gave me that extra boost during my workout and I pushed myself much harder than yesterday. Thanks again for your encouragement. After a great workout, I still had a lot of energy that I needed to burn, so when I got home, I decided to go on a family bike ride! This, was by far, my favorite part of the day. Not only did I get to spend time with my beautiful family, but we got our exercise on too!

For those of you who have decided to not only follow me on my journey but join me as well, share with us all how your first couple of days have gone. I’d love to read all about it!

July 25: I was not planning on posting daily, which is why I am posting Day one today; however, my husband and I agree that I should post on a daily basis, at least for the beginning of this journey. This way, I will be more encouraged to get off on the right foot.

So for day one, I began my day with a slice of wheat toast and peanut butter, which, I may add, is one of my favorites. I have also discovered Crystal Light energy drinks (also available in the Great Value brand if shopping at Walmart), which are not only low calorie, but also very tasty. Being that I start my day at 6:15 every morning, these really give me the extra boost I need to get started. I have also noticed that these drinks also really get my matobolism moving in the morning. At $1.76-$2.20 for a box of 10, you can’t beat that price!

For lunch, I found a new recipe, Creamy Skillet Chicken, which I thought was pretty tasty, however, Abner, had a different opinion. I remind you though, he’s not a fan of healthy food (yet!). Which is why, I ask you guys, if you have any delicious, healthy recipes, please, PLEASE, share them with me (us). You can post as a comment, or email them to me.

Monday, Day 1, also started my workout routine. Thankfully, Yvonne, a great friend of mine, invited me over to share her fitness center in her apartment complex. I couldn’t be more grateful, being that we are a one-income family, I didn’t have to pay for the cost of a gym membership. We did a 1 hr workout, where I did about 25 minutes on a bike, 20 minutes on a treadmill, and 15 minutes on weights and abs workout. It was great!

I ended Day 1, with a delicious wrap that consisted of a 100% whole wheat tortilla, chicken, pastrami, and turkey slices, cucumber bits and cream cheese. My wrap also included spinach, which I’ve never had before, but was pretty good, I’m glad I tried it! Over all, a great first day!
